Yeah, so here is an improvement meme that I threw together in about forty minutes. I didn't dare go back farther then two years, mainly because you'd cry tears of blood to see such awful crap. And because a few months ago I went on rampage and recycled all the crappy stuff. XD But yigh... it burns...
A more in depth description to my years, because I love yakkin'!
2008: A lot of what I did was in a little sketch book, so there wasn't too much detail. My eye for lighting wasn't so great, hence the profound lack of shines and shadows. Hands were (still are) the bane of my existence, but then they were very very tiny. Usually they were only a little bigger then the eyes that I drew. Plus the positions that everyone was in wasn't too varied.
2009: My growth then was quite explosive. My main sketchbook (much larger, allowing for more details, woo.) was filled with the usual swish and flick noses, swan necks and awkward positions, but busts (the head shot, not the body part) started to creep in, as you can see. For the first few months (around May-August) shading was... still lacking, but as you can see I gained some skill and variety. My drawings of hair changed as well, making it look more natural, in a pseudo kinda way. My style started to be more of an imitation of others, and it seemed softer then my style now. It also didn't have nearly as many dark elements as it does now. I also started taking stabs at different medias, other then pencil and Copic. Black pen, some watercolor pencil, maybe some charcoal, normal watercolor and the SUPER COMBO. (whoot)
2010: WHAO. My style has stabilized, into a cross between Yana Toboso's and Tite Kubo's, mostly because I take such heavy elements from them. I've become more daring in group pictures and lighting and such. How fun. But I've also gotten muchmuchMUCH better at realisms. They really look like people now! The compisitions I make are cleverer now as well, so they are more lively that way as well.
Well, I hope that I'm not the only one who can see the improvement from awful, craptastic stuff to... good stuff? Sure, let's call it that. Well, at least I think it's good.
